We always enjoy our trips to the WineMaker Magazine Conference. This year, with the conference in Santa Rosa, CA, we were excited to have a chance to explore more of California’s wine country. It was our first trip to the area. (Can you believe it?) We took a few extra days and spent some time in Napa, Suisun Valley, Lodi, and Sonoma. Of course, it wasn’t long enough to fully enjoy the area, but we did our best!
We have a wonderful time every year at WineMaker Magazine’s annual home winemaking conference, and this year was no exception. This May we traveled to Portland, OR, and got to experience the wonders of Willamette Valley.
As usual, the wine was exquisite, and we learned so many things. Not the least of which was how to properly pronounce Willamette … “It’s Will-AM-it, dammit!” Continue reading →
Every November we look forward to the WineMaker Magazine Label Contest winners being announced. That’s because every year we pick out some of our best labels and send them in, with our fingers crossed.
Since wine labels and graphic design are our business, we’re always excited to enter our personal favorites and to see how they fare.

We had a great time at the 2014 WineMaker Magazine Conference in Virginia! This year we went early and spent a few days touring wine country before the conference began. There are some amazing wines coming out of Virginia. Definitely an area worth checking out!

Some wineries in the area are reporting up to 100% of their vines were damaged. It will be a while before they know how much damage the vines actually sustained, but they it’s going to be severe. This will undoubtedly mean lower yields in Finger Lakes wineries this year. Continue reading →
