We’re pretty excited here at Noontime Labels. We love autumn, with the cooler weather that says winter is coming. And we have some big plans in the works for next year, so we’re excited about that. But before we get ahead of ourselves, we wanted to show off our featured custom wine label design, perfect for your homemade wines: Continue reading
We had a wonderful time this year at WineMaker Magazine’s annual 2015 home winemaking conference. This May we traveled to Portland, OR, and got to experience the wonders of Willamette Valley.
As usual, the wine was exquisite, and we learned so many things. Not the least of which was how to properly pronounce Willamette … “It’s Will-AM-it, dammit!” Continue reading
Wondering what to get the home winemaker on your gift list? Trying to drop hints about what you’d like to receive? Either way, we’re here to help! We’ve put together a guide of ideas for useful (and unusual) holiday gifts for home winemakers and wine lovers on your list.
Check out some of the items we found:
Mrs. Noontime got me one of these a couple of years ago, and I use it all the time! It’s simple, just store the sleeve in the freezer and pull it out when you need it. It’s perfect for keeping a chilled white wine cool while you savor it. It also helps quick chill wine when you want to pop open a bottle but forgot to stash it in the fridge to chill first. This is the sleeve I have and there are several other options available at Amazon.com.
Every November we look forward to the WineMaker Magazine Wine Label Contest winners being announced. That’s because every year we pick out some of our best labels and send them in, with our fingers crossed.
Since wine labels and graphic design are our business, we’re always excited to enter our personal favorites and to see how they fare.
But I have to tell you, we’re also a little nervous each year. After all, there are a lot of creative winemakers submitting their favorite designs, too. Will ours hold up to the competition?
We don’t grow grapes here in southern Florida, so we make wine with what we have. One of our favorites is our homemade mango wine from fruit that grows in our neighborhood. Our neighbors have huge trees that produce abundant crops most years, and they are always happy to share with us.
In 2012 we made five gallons of mango wine that we’re now enjoying. We also made our first bottles of sparkling wine out of that batch. We just finished off the last bottle of sparkling mango wine, and were very sad to see it go.
We had a great time at the WineMaker Magazine’s 2014 Home Winemaking Conference in Virginia! This year we went early and spent a few days touring wine country before the conference began. There are some amazing wines coming out of Virginia. Definitely an area worth checking out!
It was great to meet so many of our customers, and to see your labels on bottles. Thanks to everyone who came up to introduce yourself and show off your wine! We loved getting to know all of you.
If you wait long enough, what was old will become new again. It was true for miniskirts, platform shoes, and skinny jeans. It’s also true for these retro custom wine labels.
We’ve noticed a trend in retro-looking wine labels lately on the wines we buy in the store. What’s fun is that they fit right in with today’s bright, colorful, creative labels! To honor this design trend, we’ve created several retro custom bottle labels and recently added them to our website.
Dapper Custom Wine Label Design
One of our favorites is the Dapper label. This custom wine label recalls the days of Prohibition, speakeasies, and young ladies dancing the Charleston. Note: this wine label is only available in 3 inch by 5 inch size.
